Did you know that Mike Goldberg is also a professional musician?  In addition to his meteorological training, Mike holds a degree in clarinet performance from the world-renowned Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he also studied conducting.  Recently named Adjunct Instructor of Clarinet at Randolph-Macon College, he maintains a private clarinet studio and is on the faculty for Da Capo Virginia.  Mike regularly performs with several local ensembles, including the Richmond Symphony, and is the founder and Artistic Director for the chamber music ensemble Crescendo.  An accomplished conductor, he is the Music Director of the Central Virginia Wind Symphony, a group of the most talented high school musicians in Central Virginia, and serves as Assistant Conductor for the Richmond Philharmonic and Music Director for the Capital City Summer Wind Band.  A strong advocate for music education in our schools, Mike is a woodwinds coach for the Cosby Titan Band, the Lee Davis Marching Confederates and the Colonial Forge Sound & Guard in Stafford County.  He has also worked as Music Specialist for the Deep Run Marching Wildcats.
